National win for Cambridge telemarketing agency
In happy co-incidence with Small Business Week 2007, a Cambridge-based company is celebrating after their youngest employee won a prestigious national award.
James Mitchell, who works for telemarketing company Prospect Research on Gwydir Street, was nominated for the Recognition Awards 2007 by his boss Chris Walthew for his effort and enthusiasm in the workplace. James, 19, pipped six other regional finalists to the post to become the national winner, and was presented with his award by Nigel Toplis, Managing Director of Recogntion Express, at a ceremony on 25 October. Hayley Jeantou, who also works at Prospect Research, was a runner-up in the regional finals.
The Recognition Awards 2007 gave employers and staff the chance to acknowledge colleagues’ loyalty and effort. This year the scheme, run by leading corporate recognition products organisation Recognition Express, focused on employees who go that ‘extra mile’ and regularly contribute more than is expected.
“When we first met James we were instantly impressed by his professionalism and poise – a rare thing for a 19 year old,” explained Chris Walthew, managing director of Prospect Research, and who set up the company just three years ago. “Over the last nine months James has gone from strength to strength, and his unwavering belief in our company and his energetic demeanor makes him a much admired and liked member of our team.
“James’ professional approach and efficiency in his role of telemarketing account executive, generating sales leads and arranging follow-up appointments from within a diverse range of business sectors, has not gone un-noticed by our clients.
The Recognition Awards for Prospect Research comes hot on the heels of success in the recent Cambridge Evening News Business Excellence Awards, for which the company was shortlisted in the Small Business of the Year category
