Preparation for success in telemarketing

Studies have shown that there is a direct correlation between a tidy, organised work space and increased productivity. I find this concept particularly useful when setting up my work space for different telemarketing campaigns.  So here are three helpful tips to consider when preparing to make phone calls that will stimulate your brains and ensure you have easy access to the information you need to generate solid leads.

1. Tidy up your desk

We are all a little guilty of allowing our desks to become disorganised from time to time but clutter can over stimulate your brain and make it harder for you to focus on the task at hand. Dedicate a few minutes every week to cleaning up your work space, get a desk organiser, file what you need and recycle what you don’t. A tidy desk will not only help you process information more easily it will also reduce your stress levels.

2. Colour is your friend

Unless you are visually impaired, colour has been proven to play a major role in how our brains process, retain and recall information from our environment. Using colour to highlight important information on your call approach or briefing notes will enhance your memory performance. This will enable you to speak more organically with your prospect, deal with objections and answer difficult questions, without sounding like a robot.

3. Get creative

Each campaign will have different demands on your memory capabilities. Market research, for example, needs a different approach than booking meetings between prospects and clients. For more challenging campaigns you can use whiteboards or pin boards to display helpful information, keywords, specific criteria and case studies for easy access and referral, subsequently you will sound much more organised and professional.
