What is Telemarketing?

When you hear the word telemarketing, you probably think about the people that ring you up and try to sell you products that you do not need. But it is much more than that.
In fact, Telemarketing is used a lot in the business industry, it is used to help companies to achieve success. It first began by housewives, who were calling people up to trying to find cookie buyers. Telemarketing first started by people only be able to dial 100 numbers, over the course of 8 hours. Whereas nowadays you can dial as many numbers possible at any time of the day.
This just shows how much it has changed and developed over the past 100 years, because it now one of the most modern and expanding way of marketing and is also a popular method used to bring in sales.

The benefits of using of using telemarketing?

Why do companies use telemarketing? Companies use telemarketing because unlike emailing they are able to gain instant feedback. This is very important to companies because it helps companies to adjust their messages and makes sure it delivers to the best standards for its customers.
Another benefit to telemarketing is, it is done on a more personal levels this means because it is done over the phone you get a more interactive response than you would on an email, because on a phone call you get to connect with people more and you get a more in-depth answer, unlike what you would get on an email, where you may have to wait a long time to gain a response back. Another advantage is, that it helps to raise awareness of the company that is making the phone calls because the more companies that they contact the more their name gets out there and the more it helps to promote their brand.
