Focusing on employee engagement
At Prospect Research we have various ways to encourage employee engagement. This helps ensure we have a motivated team, dedicated to achieving excellent results in their telemarketing, lead generation and market research campaigns for clients.
Everyone at the company can influence where the company goes, and we hold regular open meetings to get ideas from the team on sales, marketing and how to give the best service to clients. We strongly believe that everyone has something to give, no matter what level they are at in the company.
We have a Monday morning meeting, a monthly company meeting to keep everyone informed about things that are affecting the company, and a quarterly strategy meeting, to review how the business is performing against goals.
In 2013, we took part in the government Growth Accelerator coaching scheme. One of the primary aims was to further improve employee engagement by becoming more open about the company’s mid and long term goals. This way, employees can see a clearer career path in the company and how they can influence the success of the company.
We have a very open and approachable management team, and they are always receptive to new ideas.
We have a clear line of progression through the company, so people can aim for the next stage in their career. Everyone has a personal development plan that supports them in their personal and professional goals.
As well as salaries that are well above the industry norm, we share a proportion of company profits with staff.
This year, we are very proud to be awarded with the Investors in People Accreditation, which demonstrates our commitment to developing the team.
Encouraging curiosity and staff development
One of the key attributes successful telemarketers and market researchers have is a sense of curiosity. To promote this in our team, one of the staff initiatives we have set up is our ‘Curiosity Fund’. Staff can apply for a grant to learn a new skill and study towards a qualification. This can be in any area that they want to explore. Their newly honed skills are then shared with the rest of the team at one of our company meetings. Some examples include staff achieving City & Guilds awards in Gardening, and Ceramics, and completing a course in Advance Cookery at the Cambridge Cookery School.
This dedication to everyone’s development encourages people to think outside of their job role, and to put forward ideas that will help the company grow.
Social and community
We hold various events for the whole company, which keeps us working together as a whole team. We regular participate in fundraising events for a local children’s hospice, as well as social events.
